Article: In Black, In White, In Love

In Black, In White, In Love

In Black, In White, In Love

Some love stories aren’t written in colour — they’re captured in contrast. For Anastasia and her partner, an Iceland elopement was less about traditional style and more about embracing difference. In a setting carved by volcanoes and waterfalls, they created a day that was raw, emotional, and strikingly beautiful — a perfect mirror of their complementary personalities.

Where Style Meets Landscape

There was no formal theme at first, Anastasia explains — just a sense of who they were. As their plans evolved, a black-and-white aesthetic naturally emerged, shaped by the stark contrast between their characters.

“That’s why I thought a black-and-white theme would perfectly reflect us,” the bride said.

The visual story unfolded in Iceland’s dramatic terrain — rugged, wild, and elemental — heightening the emotional texture of their day.

Before Him, There Was the Dress

Some brides find their dress. Others always knew.

“I chose the dress before I even met my future husband, knowing I wanted to get married in it.”

While working in the event industry nearly a decade earlier, Nastia came across Mywony and the Dione gown. The moment stayed with her. There was no Plan B — and there didn’t need to be. She’d already found the one.

“I never looked for or wanted any other.”

Years later, she returned to the same cut of the gown, but switched the lace embroidery to Asteria’s asymmetrical beading and silk chiffon skirt. This was an unexpected mix that added as much personal touch as it was possible.

“I was absolutely thrilled when I saw the final result.”

A Bold Choice in an Untamed Land

One of the gown’s standout features, the embroidery, became a defining element of the entire look. Originally designed for a different dress model with heavier fabric, Anastasia requested it be reimagined on the lighter, more ethereal silhouette of the Dione top.

“I’m so grateful to the atelier for agreeing to this experiment — it turned out perfectly!”

Set against Iceland’s ice, lava fields, and crashing waterfalls, the delicate embroidery shimmered, creating a powerful visual contrast. Her look was bold but tender, luminous silk flowing in the wind as the earth smoked and rumbled around her.

“The dress stood out beautifully against Iceland’s nature, making me look incredibly delicate and tender against the backdrop of an erupting volcano.”

Trust your instincts

Choosing the perfect wedding dress is one of the most personal decisions a bride will make. It’s not about following trends or pleasing others; it’s about finding a gown that speaks to your heart and truly represents who you are.

And Anastasia has a simple answer to that: don’t compromise.

“Don’t listen to anyone else and choose what you genuinely like.”

Even though friends, family, and a stylist suggested a different option, she trusted her instincts — and the atelier’s craftsmanship — and never looked back.

“If I had given in to others’ opinions, I would have regretted it… By trusting myself, I ended up with the perfect dress.”

In Her Words

When asked to describe her Mywony gown in three words, Anastasia’s answer was simple yet perfect:

Refined. Magnetic. Sparkling.

Just like the day they tied the knot — memorable and uniquely theirs.
