Taking Care of MÝWONY DRESS
Your wedding dress is more than just a garment — it carries memories, emotions, and craftsmanship. At MÝWONY, our gowns are crafted mostly from natural silk, a luxurious yet delicate fabric that deserves special care from the moment you receive it to years after your big day.
Silk’s natural fibers are beautiful but delicate: they’re sensitive to water, harsh detergents, heat, light, and incorrect storage. With the right care, your gown will remain gorgeous — whether you’re preserving it as an heirloom or keeping it for anniversary photos.
Home Care Instructions for Silk
For moments when professional care isn’t immediately available, we’ve created simple care instructions for your garment.
Please take caution and, whenever possible, have your silk item professionally cleaned.
Silk is exceptionally delicate. When caring for it at home, always prioritize gentle handling, low impact, and minimal intervention.
Here you can find a more detailed silk care guide, carefully created by our professional staff.
Washing & Handling
Silk requires a delicate approach at every step. When cleaning at home, always use cold water and a mild, silk-safe detergent to protect the fibers. Avoid prolonged soaking and keep water exposure minimal.
Handle the garment gently and as little as possible. Never scrub, twist, or wring, as this can permanently damage the fabric and distort its shape. Always support the garment fully when lifting or moving it to prevent stretching or stress on seams.
Drying & Wrinkle Care
After washing, lay the garment flat on a clean towel and allow it to air dry naturally. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as these can weaken fibers and cause discoloration. Never use a tumble dryer.
To remove wrinkles, opt for gentle steaming from a distance. If ironing is necessary, use the lowest heat setting and place a protective cloth between the iron and silk. Press lightly and avoid dragging to maintain the fabric’s smooth finish.
Stains & Product Safety
In case of spills, act quickly but gently. Blot the stain with a clean, dry cloth — never rub, as friction can spread the stain and damage the fibers. Work from the outer edges inward and avoid oversaturating the fabric.
Do not use household stain removers, bleach, or harsh chemicals. Avoid contact with alcohol-based products like perfume or deodorant. If the stain persists or the fabric feels fragile, stop and seek professional cleaning to preserve the garment’s structure and beauty.
